Discover the Absolute Best of 3 Days in Toronto

3 days in Toronto itinerary

Thanks to a long holiday weekend we spent 3 days in Toronto. We had never been to Toronto. Over the past year, I have run into many people from Toronto. Thanks to a quick direct flight from Nashville decided to explore our neighbors to North. We are so glad we did.

To make the most of our recent holiday weekend, we flew West Jet from Nashville after work one afternoon. The 90-minute flight was shorter than a movie. When we arrived at the airport, we quickly went through immigration and were hopping into a taxi in no time. The taxi from the airport to our hotel in the financial district of Toronto was 70 (CAD). We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. I am big into points and miles, so our flights and hotels were free on points. If you want to learn more about that, click here.

Hotel

The Hyatt Regency was a great base for our 3 day trip. I am a Discoverist member with Hyatt. This means a room upgrade when available. We were moved to a higher floor with a great view of the pool and the city. We also get 2 free bottled water per day. We can also get a 2 pm checkout our last day. We ended up not needing this, but it was on our reservation in case we decided to stay later.

We hit the local coffee house/bakery French Made each morning. It was around the corner from our hotel. I could even see from our window. I wish I could say I was more adventurous, but their blueberry scone made me so happy. I never tried anything else. I paired this a sweetened condensed milk latte. Yum!

Day 1

Our first day we explored on our in the morning. We headed to the amazing St Lawerence Market and explored. This was a fabulous international market. We had so much fun exploring everything! We even left with some Ukranian Sausage that my husband had for breakfast the next morning.

After lunch this day, we met up with our Beer makes History better tour that I found on Viator. This was a fantastic way to get to know Toronto. Our guide Jason had us laughing and engaged for over 3 hours. Read my full review here. We even saw a Banksy on this tour. (Pic Below)

Day 2

Our 2nd day was a long one! We booked a big bus tour to Niagara Falls. I am not a fan of big bus tours, but this one had everything I wanted to do on it, so we took a chance. You can find the tour we booked here. Since I had never been to Niagara Falls, this was a great way to get everything in. We visited a winery, the falls, had lunch provided, and then went to Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a long day. I'm glad we did it, but I would do it differently if we had the chance to go back. I explain more here.

3rd day

For the 3rd day, my husband picked out what we did. I was shocked when he picked a museum. Just kidding! I have been married to him for 21 years I knew he would pick the Royal Ontario Museum. My family loves Museums and learning. The museum was about a 40-minute walk from our hotel. We love to walk a city, so this wasn’t a big deal for us at all. We had reservations for the limited-time Auschwitz exhibit at 1. We got a late start had lunch near the museum then started exploring. If the exhibit is still there when you go, I highly recommend it! Also, you have to use the audio guide! I hate audio guides, but this one was so good. I listened to every word. Brandon missed out on some great stories by not listening to every second. I had to explain a few things to him after we left. Be warned it is emotional, and I was not the only one crying in there.

Overall, we had the best time in Toronto. We would love to go back and take our boys. We walked everywhere and I felt very safe. I would solo travel to Toronto in a heartbeat. Up next I am heading to Quebec City with my son Finn. You can see how I booked that trip using points and miles here. Not even a week later, I am heading to Norway with my other son Tanner I booked that on points, miles and a casino deal. Link to how I did that is here.
