Maximize Cruise Budget with Virgin Voyages Bar Tab Offer
What’s up with Virgin Voyages’ bar tab? Virgin does everything a little differently, which some people love and others hate. I am, of course, team LOVE. Virgin is my favorite cruise line. I have been cruising for just over a year and a half, and I have learned that comparing cruise lines is like comparing apples and oranges. No two are alike, then there is Virgin Voyages.
What exactly is the Virgin Voyages Bar Tab?
I like the Virgin Voyages bar tab because it saved us a lot of money on our recent cruise. My husband and I spent 5 days on the Resilient Lady. Before our cruise, we purchased a $300 bar tab. After a status match with Virgin late last year, I have deep blue extras until the end of 2025. When I purchased my bar tab of $300 I received a bonus bar tab of $100. If you don’t have a status match, you can still receive a $50 bonus bar tab with a $300 purchase. I like to have a glass of wine or two for dinner and then an occasional margarita at the Dock House. At dinner, we usually ordered a bottle of wine to cut down on alcohol expenses instead of ordering it by the glass. We then had cocktails whenever we wanted, and we went over by $50. I also used my bar tab for my daily latte. If we had been on other cruise lines to purchase a drink package would have been at least $60 each a day. I would have overindulged trying to get my money’s worth. At my age, I no longer like to overindulge, so this worked out perfectly for us.
To further save money, I could have brought two bottles of wine on board (one for each of us). With two back-to-back cruises, I simply forgot to do this. Virgin provides free Coke products, water, and carbonated water so we didn’t not a bar tab to purchase any of those.
