Travel in Style: 2 Days in Boston with Credit Card Benefits

Thanks to some savvy thinking, I was able to join my husband on his business trip to Boston. Even though this isn’t technically a point trip, I like showing you how to maximize your travel with credit card points and benefits.

My husband had a work trip to Boston. It happened to fall around our anniversary. Even though we celebrated earlier in the month in Miami, I thought, why not join him? I love Boston and would love to have a day or two to myself to do what I want.

The Flight

My husband flew Southwest to Boston. He achieved the companion pass last year for the current year. His company paid for his flight, and I tagged along for $11.20. I have to pay the taxes and fees for a round-trip companion pass ticket.

The Hotel

His company provided his hotel room. At first, we thought, "Let’s stay at Hyatt. We love Hyatt points." However, I remember we have Hilton Diamond Status through our Hilton Aspire card. If we stay at a Hilton, I will get a $30 food and beverage credit per day. He will be out doing business stuff, I can use that for just me!!! We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston. This hotel was in Chinatown and was walkable to many of the attractions I wanted to visit.

Lounge Life

We flew home on our actual anniversary, and we left the hotel in plenty of time to enjoy wine and food at the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Boston.

If you like learning about our family travels on points and miles, I would love for you to follow me on Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube to stay updated with our journey in leaving no point left behind.
